NOTES AND DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:Description by J. M. Lock, Flora of Tropical East Africa. Notes that it is close to C. afer and C. sarmentosus. Differs from C. afer by one flower per bract, differs from C. sarmentosus by glabrous midrib and ligule. Note height - can grow to be much taller.
NATURAL DISTRIBUTION:Distribution limited to Tanzania, riverine forest, 300-1070 m.
HEIGHT:2 to 5 meters
