NOTES AND DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:Attractive in cultivation for its glaucus stems and leaves. Young plants are completely glaucus, in older plants only the bracts, sheaths, and lower sides of leaves are glaucus.
NATURAL DISTRIBUTION:Rather rare in Panama, Costa Rica and Colombia.
HEIGHT:1 to 5 meters
