DETERMINATION:
By Dave Skinner, matches description in Koechlin and others.

GENERAL:
Tall plant with both terminal and basal blooming, similar looking to Costus dubius.

INFLORESCENCE:


BRACTS:
Green spotted with red, thin and papery, glabrous, 1.5 cm long by 2 cm wide.

APPENDAGE:
NONE

BRACTEOLE:
2 per bract, color same as bract, glabrous, boat shaped, 1.8 cm long by .7 cm wide, each bracteole uniform in size and shape unlike Costus lucanusianus.

CALYX:
2 per bract, same colors as bract, glabrous, lobes triangular, 1.5 cm long by .9 cm wide, each calyx uniform in size and shape.

COROLLA:
Creamy white, 3.8 cm long by 1.5 cm wide.

LABELLUM:
White with red and yellow blotches, glabrous, 5 cm long by 3 cm wide.

STAMEN:
White, glabrous, 4.5 cm long by 1.5 cm wide.
