BOTANICAL NOTES:
This plant in the wild looked very much like a hybrid of Costus scaber, but after growing the seeds it has turned out to be the horticultural form of C. comosus. It was included in the molecular phylogeny and was confirmed in the same clade as the cultivated form of C. comosus and the plants of that form collected in the wild in Bolivia and Peru.
