BOTANICAL NOTES:
This is a hybrid I created in 2007 crossing Costus 'Belize Yellow' with the compact form of Costus guanaiensis ('Sweet Charlotte'). Here is the cultivar description: Hybrid with the compact size and spreading shape of 'Sweet Charlotte' and the non-appendaged bracts and tubular flowers from 'Belize Yellow'. Stems and ligules are glabrous, leaves are slightly puberulous. Bracts are non-appendaged, dark red with green and yellow hi-lites, flowers are a unique deep coral color.

GINGERSRUS CATALOG LISTING:
My very best hybrid, Costus 'Moonluster' came from a cross of Mark Collins' 'Belize Yellow' with the compact form of Costus guanaiensis in my collection. The result is a beautiful pale pinkish color with several flowers often open at the same time, contrasted agains the rosette of broad felty leaves. The plant grows to about 4 feet high keeping the flowers at eye level. It is really a magnificent plant.
