ACCESSION NOTES:
A plant by this name was acquired on eBay by Bob Campos of Houston, Texas. I saw this blooming in his garden in July 2005 and photographed it. It has red flowers and red bracts with unusual out-turned tips. Plant is glabrous throughout, short ligules, wide leaves with rounded base and shortly acuminate to acute apex. See comparison photos with C. woodsonii, has a much longer bracteole and red calyx and bracteole.

GINGERSRUS CATALOG LISTING:
This plant has been around for a number of years, sometimes sold on eBay and other sites, but the actual origin is not known. It appears to me to be a hybrid, possibly with Costus woodsonii and another species, but I really do not know. It is easy to grow and flowers reliably.
